Lake Windermere Whiteway, Invermere
Invermere Whiteway, Lake Windermere Whiteway, or just “The Whiteway” is officially the Longest Skating Path in the World! In 2014, this was confirmed by the Guinness World Records. Originally created by the Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club, the 34 km Whiteway connects the communities of Invermere, Fairmont, and Windermere in the winter. It circumnavigates Lake Winderemere.
The Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club is proud to maintain the Lake Windermere Whiteway with track and skate ski areas, a skating path, and a multi-use path.

Invermere Curling Club

Kinsmen Beach
Kinsmen Beach is a fun-filled family beach. With many activities for the little ones to do, like the Rotary Splash Park, playground, and water slide dock, it has everything a family unit needs! If you want to get out for a paddle on Lake Windermere, Columbia River Paddle’s rental kiosk is on Kinsmen Beach. Here, you can easily rent floaty toys, paddle boards, and kayaks.
Lake Lillian Whiteway – Nordic Ski Trails
The Lake Lillian Whiteway, located just 10 minutes outside of Invermere, is a gorgeous lake-based 3km classic and skating skiing trail.
To get there: From the traffic lights on Highway 93/95 at the Invermere junction, turn west on Athalmer Road towards Invermere. After you cross the railway tracks overpass, turn right onto Panorama Drive/Toby Creek Road. Follow the road for approximately 7 km. Turn right into the Lake Lillian parking area.

Markin-MacPhail Westside Legacy Trail
A paved walking and biking trail connecting the communities of Invermere and Fairmont Hot Springs. Although paved, the trail offers sweeping views of Lake Windermere and the Rockies with interpretive signs, picnic areas, and benches along the way.

Rhythm by Nature
Rhythm by Nature will guide you through an immersive drumming experience where you will learn about the history of drumming, drumming techniques and drumming cultures from all around the world.
But that’s only the beginning! Participants are led through a series of playful exercises and given time to relax and reflect with gentle drumming and sound healing techniques.
Rhythm By Nature’s drum circles, workshops, and programs elevate a variety of occasions, such as team building & corporate events, wellness centers & retreats, community events and more. Offered twice a month, all year round, visitors to the Columbia Valley are welcome to participate in a community drum circle at Pynelogs Cultural Centre, in Invermere. Everyone is welcome with new participants attending every session.

Playwest Mountain Experience
Playwest Mountain Experience is a professional guiding company. Their aim is to take guests away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse them into the incredible local hiking trails surrounding Invermere. Their guides are Invermere residents and are well versed in the local flora & fauna as well as the history of the region. They will inspire and educate guests in a fun and safe environment, learning about the surroundings through storytelling and the odd bad joke.
All of their guides are members of several professional associations, the most notable being the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). The ACMG has set the standard for professional guiding in Canada for over 50 years. As a minimum standard, all of the Playwest Mountain Experience guides are certified members of the ACMG.
