Explore the Lake Windermere Whiteway

This 34-kilometre groomed multi-use trail is the world’s longest skating path, connecting Invermere to Windermere. Users can choose to ice skate, walk, fat bike, or use the cross-country ski track alongside to experience the entire length of the trail. As you traverse the trail, you will likely find local pond hockey, curling, and ice fishing shacks alongside the mountainscape encircling the lake, adding to the breathtaking backdrop. The Whiteway is groomed and maintained by the Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club and local volunteers.

A hot lunch paired with an icy cold one can be found at Panorama Mountain Resort’s Summit Hut. Located at 2730 metres, the Summit Hut is the highest building on Panorama Mountain. Classic cheese fondue is a newfound favourite at the Elkhorn Cabin & Outdoor Cafe, nestled atop the Roller Coaster run. Both cabins offer stunning 360-degree views and indoor/outdoor seating, making it the perfect place to stop and warm up between runs.
