Annual Events & Festivals

Snowflake Festival & Bonspiel on the Lake

Held annually on the third weekend of January, the Snowflake Festival features local food vendors, food trucks, live music, ice carving, and a spectacular fireworks display. The festival began in January 2010 when Invermere hosted the Olympic Torch as it made its journey through the Valley to the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Nipika/ Panorama Loppet

Kick off the fourth weekend of January with the Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club’s annual cross-country skiing event, offering classic and skate races for all ages and skill levels. Day one takes place at Nipika Mountain Resort, a four-season, pet-friendly eco-resort nestled in the Canadian Rockies, and Cross River Canyon Recreation Site near Kootenay National Park. Day two continues at Panorama Mountain Resort, an alpine village surrounded by Canada’s oldest mountains, where endless outdoor adventures await.

Mountain Home Production Concerts 

Mountain Home Productions brings the Columbia Valley to life with monthly concerts that celebrate local talent and community spirit. From intimate performances to full-scale festivals and neighborhood gatherings, they're dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences and amplifying the vibrant culture of the Valley.

Wings Over the Rockies Nature Festival

Wings Over the Rockies is one of Canada’s premier wildlife festivals, celebrating the rich natural wonders of the Columbia Valley. Each spring, the festival brings together nature enthusiasts, bird lovers, and curious explorers for guided hikes, paddling tours, expert talks, family activities, and unforgettable wildlife viewing experiences.

Canada Day 

Celebrate Canada Day in downtown Invermere with a full day of festivities! Enjoy a lively parade, family-friendly activities, and a spectacular fireworks show hosted by the Kinsmen Club. It’s a day to come together, and soak up the community spirit in the heart of the Valley.

Valley Appreciation Day 

Valley Appreciation Day is a celebration of community in the Columbia Valley, bringing residents and visitors together for a day of fun, entertainment, and local pride. Enjoy activities for all ages, live performances, food vendors, and opportunities to connect with the people and places that make the Valley so special.

Santa Clause Parade & Light Up Celebration

The Light Up Celebration and Santa Claus Parade takes place every year on the last weekend of November. Watch downtown Invermere come alive with festive lights as the holiday season begins, and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities.

Downtown Invermere Late Night Shopping

Downtown Invermere Late Night Shopping lights up the town every December, giving shoppers the chance to browse local boutiques and businesses well into the evening. Enjoy festive decorations, special deals, and a warm holiday atmosphere as you find the perfect gifts and soak up the seasonal spirit.
